Highlights and Successes
2008 - 2011

From July 2008 to June 2011, through a grant funded by the County of Orange Health Care Agency, America On Track had great success implementing the Tobacco Prevention & Cessation Project in the North Region of Orange County, specifically in the cities of Anaheim and La Habra.

The main outcome objective was to decrease access of tobacco to minors by 20% from baseline, by working with and educating 287 tobacco retailers on state youth tobacco access laws as well as by working with community members and organizations to educate them on the harmful effects of tobacco use and secondhand smoke.

America On Track worked very closely with tobacco retailers, business groups, city agencies, law enforcement, school districts, youth groups, and community based organizations in an effort to reduce youth access to tobacco.
